The phone in my bag vibrated, thankfully i happened to return to my workstation. Picked up the phone, the number registered is not anyone in my contact. I was beginning to suspect that it might be a call from SMU. The caller went "may i speak to ...." as usual, one of those who had a hard time pronouncing my name. Then i realised that she was from NUS mech engine dept, and she said i was shortlisted for interview. Man, i didnt know that engineering needs interview. It turned out that i was shortlisted under the discretionary admission category. It was disheartening to know that my results were not good enough for them and i had to be considered under non-academic options. Suddenly the grief over my results aroused again. I really wished that i have done better but when i look back and reflect on the effort i put in, i realised that there was no way in which i could have studied harder. Perhaps i'm not smart aft all... destined to be a nobody...
